SURGICAL MISSION TO QUANG NGAI BY SIKA
From April 23-26, 183 patients were screened, 94 of them were operated in a surgical mission to Quang Ngai. We would love to say thank you Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai Province, Quang Ngai Hospital for Children and Woman, our all medical and non-medical volunteers who worked restless from 7am to 9.30pm every day to deliver the extraordinary results. Without their huge efforts, this wouldn’t be possible.
More meaningfully, 5 volunteers from the mission sponsor – SIKA Vietnam participated in and contributed to the success of this mission.
Besides, a nursing training course to equip the skill set of cleft surgery for nurses of Quang Ngai Hospital for Children and Women was also organized. 30 participants were present and the class was led by RN. Dinh Thi Tuong Van.
COLOR RUN FOR SMILES 2021
Color Run For Smiles is the charity-run event held by Operation Smile with the purpose of raising funds to support surgeries, raising public awareness as well as enhancing donor engagement and cooperation.
The first event in 2019 attracted 3,000 participants including staff from corporates, Hanoi running groups, students from high schools, colleges, and universities as well as public communities.
This year 2021, the 2nd Color Run For Smiles is expected to happen in Sala Residence (HCMC) with the hope of 4,000 – 5,000 participants and more branding opportunities for corporates.
Running for charity is a great way to be part of your community. Take on a 5K fun run – it gives you inspiration and motivation to get over the finish line as well as the chance to raise funds for Operation Smile.
RECEIVING THE DONATION OF ONE BILLION VND FROM BEL VIETNAM (THE LAUGHING COW)
We were very honored to be present at the office of Bel Vietnam (Con Bò Cười – The Laughing Cow) to receive the donation of VND 1,000,000,000. That followed the commitment of Bel Vietnam when the campaign “One Laugh One Hope” achieved great success with nearly 130,000 participants after 3 weeks.
BITEXCO DONATED 10 SMILES
Operation Smile representatives were pleased to receive a donation for 10 operations from Bitexco at their Hanoi office. We are thankful for the support of the company and hope that they continue to bring new smiles to Vietnamese children in the future.
CAMPAIGN “FOR SMILES OF VIETNAMESE CHILDREN” BY PERFETTA
Phú Bảo company and the mask brand Perfetta have launched a campaign that 2VND will be donated to Operation Smile’s funds for each mask sold. With a belief that “Many a little makes a mickle”, we could help children suffering from cleft conditions from a very small action like that. Please check out this article for more details.
GARAGE SALE OF NẮNG TEAM
Nắng Team is an organizer of garage sales in Ho Chi Minh City with various goods. From late April to May, they have an idea to create a platform where people can trade their used clothes with the aim to promote less waste shopping style in fashion industry and contribute to the community. By doing so, they will donate a part of their profit to Operation Smile’s funds and help spread new smiles around.
VIETNAM TRAIL MARATHON 2021
Although the heat of April made the race tougher, a lot of smile warriors successfully conquered Vietnam Trail Marathon in Moc Chau last weekend. They not only won over themself but also showed their determination to give back to the community by enabling children to have a brighter future.
