KICK-OFF EVENT FOR THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF OPERATION SMILE IN VIETNAM

❤️OPERATION SMILE VIETNAM
💙A NEW BEGINNING – MỘT KHỞI ĐẦU MỚI

The kick-off event for the series of activities commemorating the 35th anniversary of Operation Smile, titled “A NEW BEGINNING”, took place in a warm and intimate atmosphere in Hanoi at the end of November. We had the honor of welcoming and expressing gratitude to numerous partners, including representatives from management agencies and local departments, the medical volunteers who have been with us since the early days in 1989, and the younger generations who continue their legacy. Also present were medical teams from Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan; members of the Operation Smile Vietnam Advisory Board and Smile Ambassadors; long-term sponsor partners; and staff from Operation Smile in Vietnam and the U.S. headquarters. Notably, Mrs. Kathy Magee, Co-Founder and President of Operation Smile Global, graced the event, providing great inspiration for the next chapter of Operation Smile Vietnam’s journey.

In addition to this program, the kick-off week for the 35th anniversary featured various meaningful activities, including:

  • The inauguration of a Comprehensive Treatment Center at Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Hanoi.
  • A craniofacial surgery program at Hospital 108.
  • A microsurgery program at Hospital E.
  • Smile surgery programs at Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Hanoi and the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City.
  • A school-based dental care program in Ba Vi District, Hanoi.
  • The VNU DEC 2024 International Dental Science Conference and Exhibition hosted by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
  • The Color Run For Smiles 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2025, we will continue to organize numerous medical and community activities as part of the 35th-anniversary celebrations to carry forward the journey of “A NEW BEGINNING”, bringing smiles and medical care to thousands of Vietnamese children.
